Let's Meet the Yardley 5K!

In this week's edition of "Get to Know Us" we asked the Yardley 5K and Yardley Borough Parks and Recreation Board teams to tell us a little bit about their race and share some behind the scenes info about the 2025 race. A big thank you to the entire race committee for their time and for organizing this amazing event!

Meet the Yardley 5K

The Doylestown 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run are a Memorial Day Weekend tradition. Drawing over 700 runners and a huge crowd of supporters, we are the largest race in the Bucks 5K Series. Come celebrate the 32nd Annual race on May 24, 2025!

Who does the race benefit?

Yardley Borough Parks and Recreation Board

How many years is the race celebrating in 2025?

16

Tell us about your race committee!

The Yardley Borough Parks and Recreation Board are the race directors and there are 9 of us. One of our members participates in the Boston Marathon!

What inspired you to have the race?

The Yardley Borough town is very scenic and we wanted the runners to enjoy the towpath and the town while supporting local non-profits. The course makes its way through the borough, along the Delaware River and back to the start line though the tow path. In addition, we wanted to give back and support local parks and recreational activities raised through the race.

What have you done with the proceeds from the previous races?

The board donates the proceeds back into various Yardley Borough organizations such as the Ye Olde Library, Friends of Lake Afton, Local American Legion just to name a few.

Any funny or noteworthy highlights from past races that you love?

The fastest completion time of the 5K is 16.03.31 (so far).

Any advice for someone who has never run your race before?

Take it easy and enjoy the view!

Never miss out on the fun. Subscribe!
