In this week's edition of "Get to Know Us" we asked the Doylestown 5K Race and Discover Doylestown teams to tell us a little bit about their race and share some behind the scenes info about the 2025 race. A big thank you to the entire race committee for their time and for organizing this amazing event!
The Doylestown 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run are a Memorial Day Weekend tradition. Drawing over 700 runners and a huge crowd of supporters, we are the largest race in the Bucks 5K Series. Come celebrate the 32nd Annual race on May 24, 2025!
The Doylestown 5K Race benefits two local non-profit organizations: Discover Doylestown and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School.
Discover Doylestown is a dedicated group of community members and business owners who believe a diverse downtown region, strong business community, and engaging events will help our town grow and prosper. These events have grown over the years to include the Doylestown Arts Festival, Spooktacular parade, Doylestown Pride Festival, seasonal decorations, Winterfest, Taste of Doylestown, town-wide cleanup days, and many others.
OLMC) is a parochial school of 400 students from pre-k to eighth grade. All proceeds will go directly to the enhancement of educational programs for the children.
32 years!! We can hardly believe it!
We're a tad biased but we have the best volunteers around. We're pretty lean and mighty, our race committee is lead by Volunteer Director Kris, Liz, Margie, Paul, Larry, and Becky. We're joined race weekend by a crew of about 80+ volunteers and two special ladies fondly known as "The Moms" who help keep the day flowing smoothly.
So many things! Over the years proceeds from the race have helped fund the flowering baskets that line the downtown, we purchased the 80+ foot American Flag that's displayed at our finish line and donated cooling stations to Doylestown Fire Company to help our amazing emergency services teams stay cool while protecting our community, funds have also helped replace Santa's cottage when a tree fell on it, and so many more. Our race isn't just a fun day, it invests right back into the community we run in!
Check out the flag in action below!
Our race director Kris is a bit of a self-proclaimed dork. She knows it, and we love her for it. She had an idea a few years back to add in cheer cards near the finish line to help runners push down that last stretch. Each year she's added a few more into the rotation and we love seeing the determined faces of runners crack a smile as they see them. So get ready to "kick some asphalt" and "find your happy pace" with us at the race!
