Let's Meet the YMCA Bucks Country Strong 5K!

In this week's edition of "Get to Know Us" we asked the YMCA Bucks County Strong 5K team to tell us a little bit about their race and share some behind the scenes info about the 2025 race. A big thank you to the YMCA Bucks County Strong 5K crew for their time and for organizing this amazing event!

Race Name

YMCA Bucks County Strong 5K

Who does the race benefit?

River Crossing YMCA is a non-profit organization that relies upon charitable support to ensure that no one is turned away because of an inability to pay. The Y employs over 2,000 people, serves more than 142,000 individuals and provides $12 million in charitable community impact each year. River Crossing YMCA is a non-profit organization that relies upon charitable support to ensure that no one is turned away because of an inability to pay. Each year we provide more than $5 million in financial assistance for children and youth from low income families to participate in childcare programs and summer camp; we feed more than 3,000 at-risk children and youth each year; and, we provide more than 13 free Pathway Programs that address special health needs among veterans, cancer survivors, those with mental health issues and more. 100% of the proceeds from this event will support these important causes.

What’s new at this year’s 2025 YMCA Bucks County Strong 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run?

Each year, we add more fun family engagement opportunities so that all who attend have a memorable experience! While the race course is generally flat and fast, the route along scenic Lower State Road has a slight incline on the return as runners head toward the finish line. To propel runners to the finish, live music will be performing! In honor of our race falling on Mother’s Day Weekend, all finishers will receive a Mother’s Day surprise to honor Mom and to commemorate their Bucks County Strong finish. Additionally, we’ve upped the ante on this year’s Finisher Medal and race shirts for all runners!

What makes this race so special?

At the Y, we sweat the details. We are always so focused not just on the race, but the totality of the event and how you are made to feel. Our finish line is a celebration like no other with a professional DJ, race announcing, post-run cooldown flow yoga on the War Memorial Stadium football field, and after party! Our mantra is to help every single runner - of any ability - find their finish line and to treat every runner as a finish line champion. In fact, we even have a volunteer group finish intentionally last to ensure that every registrant comes in first place! From packet pickup, to awesome race swag, to the electric atmosphere created pre-race, during the run, and post-race by our awesome Y staff, volunteers, and spectators, the YMCA Bucks County Strong 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run creates just that - stronger community!
