The 27th running of the Doylestown 5K Race the 5th race in the seven-race series on May 25th was a record-breaking success. 754 runners registered for the race -- an all-time record. The beautiful weather certainly contributed to its success, but the carnival-like atmosphere also played a major role. The runners responded with 4 new course records and 33 runners finished under the 20-minute milestone

Steve Gourley won his 3rd consecutive race and is in good position to win the overall Series title. His winning time was 16:36. He was followed by Drew Kalbach (16:52) and Patrick Dineen (17:08).

Danielle Burns (19:20), Melissa Palermo (19:32) and Jen Zenszer (20:12) were 1-2-3. 13-year-old Katie Bosak narrowly missed the top 3 with a 20:16 time. And to top off the competition, another runner in the 35-39 group, Stephanie Savastano was 1 second behind Katie.

Steve Gourley, Terry Permar, Danielle Millet, and Olivia Smith all set age group course records.

Nancy Smith won the Women’s Age-Graded Masters competition with spectacular 87.6% rating. Anabelle Broadbent (76.3%) was second and Jana Discala (76.0%) was third.

The Men’s Age-Graded Masters Champs were Steve Gourley, Jim Eder, Kevin Cooke, and Terry Permar. Their age-graded ratings were 82.5%, 80.9%, 80.6%, and 80.3%, respectively.
