Earlier this year, longtime Series friend and leader Dick Patterson announced his retirement. Our entire race committee was devastated to learn of Dick's intent to retire after many long years of volunteering. We are so grateful for his many years of dedication to the running community - there are very few runners within Central Bucks County who haven't crossed paths with him over his time leading the Series. Dick is a true leader and we are so blessed to have worked with him at the Series for many years. Enjoy retirement - and we promise not to bother him too much!

While no one could ever fill Dick's shoes entirely, the Bucks 5K Series directors took to searching for a new leadership team. Turns out two very familiar folks were ready to take the helm. You already know and love them, please help us welcome our 2024 President Dr. Johnny King-Marino, and Vice President Kris Boger!

Dr. Johnny brings a wealth of knowledge as a longtime athlete, Break Fast 5K race director, BCRR President, Series sponsor, and has worked closely with Dick for many years.

Kris has been an avid runner for years, current President of Discover Doylestown, she is regularly spotted at all the Series races with a camera capturing your happy faces as you power through the finish line, volunteering at every race, and directing the Doylestown 5K Race.

So you're probably wondering what does this mean for Series registration. Well you're in luck! Johnny and Kris are already working on getting it open for early December. So let's save the dates and we'll announce the official opening date very soon. We're excited for a really fun race season and hope you'll join us in welcoming Johnny and Kris into their new roles!
